About the Yoga Teacher Training Program

The Yoga Master Teacher: You will learn to teach a unique evolution of Iyengar Yoga under Master Sharat Arora — over 40 years experience, 7 years as assistant to BKS Iyengar at the RIMYI in Pune.

Become a certified yoga teacher under Yoga Master Sharat Arora. This fully immersive 6-week residential YTT is the most authentic and unique Teacher Training in India — combining the 160hr Intensive with 3 weeks of pedagogical teacher training.

The YTT — Two Parts

Part 1 — 160-Hour Intensive (Weeks 1–3): Rigorous daily Asana, Relaxation, Meditation and Pranayama plus Karma Yoga. Held in complete silence.

Part 2 — Hatha Yoga Teacher Training (Weeks 4–6): Theoretical and pedagogical elements. Morning classes with Master Sharat, afternoon hands-on teaching practice.

Curriculum

  • Yoga Philosophy including study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
  • Yoga Ethics: moral aspects and responsibilities of a Yoga Teacher
  • Salient features for all Yoga Asanas — props, physical and energetic function
  • Evolution of all Yoga Asanas and how to convey them to students of all levels
  • Guided corrections classes — practice both correcting and being corrected
  • Study of Human Anatomy and Physiology as applied to Yoga Asanas
  • Yoga therapy training: therapeutics and anatomy of postures
  • Body Diagnosis: reading psychology from posture and movement
  • Sequencing of 5-Day courses and independent yoga classes
