25 July - 13 August 2018 at the Himalaya Shanti Ashram – our Eco Retreat for Yoga, Meditation and Healing
Hatha Yoga is the study of the energy within us, which rises up from the bottom of the spine to the top of the head, moving through different points of the body, called Chakras. These Chakras represent our different energies.
Through the Yoga Practice we can release the blockages in any of these areas, allowing our energies to express themselves fully and thus lead a better life.
In this Intensive Yoga Course we learn which postures operate on which Chakras and how to free them, thus we understand how our Yogic Practice brings about an Evolution in our Consciousness to a purer state.
Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre Intensive Yoga Course with Master Teacher Sharat Arora – three weeks long, six days a week – are designed for those students who have taken a strong interest in furthering their Yoga practice and who wish to undertake an extensive exploration of this science. The daily program includes four hours of Asanas, two hours of Meditation and Relaxation, one hour of Pranayama, two hours of early morning Self-Practice as well as one hour of Karma Yoga. In addition to these Yoga practices, the Intenisve Course also features 2 lectures or question & answer sessions per week.
Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre Intensive Yoga Course with Master Teacher Sharat Arora - taking place at the Himalaya Shanti Ashram, our special place for Yoga, Meditation and Healing to enhance a deeper and more focused practice - should be considered a retreat, where a student can devote oneself entirely to self-exploration, change and transformation. The Intensive Courses are rigorous and the daily program very thorough - beginning in the early morning and continuing until sunset - leaving very little or no time for other activities. We, therefore, advise participants to come prepared with all their personal needs prior to the commencement of the Intensive Course. Two healthy vegetarian meals without fruit, along with afternoon tea, are provided daily to all the participants. Students can buy the fruit in the Ashram shop. All aspects of Yoga are learned on an experiential level, and dramatic changes are often felt by the students.
A meeting takes place during the evening before the Intensive Course starts and is compulsory for all participants. The program and exact schedule will be introduced, karma yoga will be distributed and all questions will be clarified.
Please note: The necessary prerequisite for participation is to complete 3 Five-Day Yoga Courses at the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre BEFORE the Intensive Course starts. If the 3 (or more) Five-Day Yoga Courses were done in the past years, then at least 1 Five-Day Course has to be attended right before the Intensive. Another option is to do the 12 days Yoga and Meditation Silent Retreat at the Himalaya Shanti Ashram directly preceding the "Chakras & Evolution of Consciousness” Intensive Yoga Course.
Intensive Course Duration: 21 days

The participants are not allowed to talk with each other verbally nor maintain any other communication like trying to catch someone else's eye sight or touch each other.
It has been observing over the years that the student benefit much more from the Intensive Courses when they remain quiet. The mental and energetic level imbalances can be noticed and corrected only when the students remain fully concentrated. And this process is greatly helped when the students do not disperse their energy outward by talking and making friends with other participants, but rather focus and go within. Communication with the outer world is taking the students' energy outward. To grow the Awareness of Oneself - the students must pull their energies within.
The Yoga Master Teacher and the Assistant Teachers will be giving the instructions during classes. The Students are allowed to ask the questions to the Teacher during classes regarding the practice.
If participants have any emergencies the Ashram manager can be talked to quietly in the Ashram office.
